TEACHERS’ READINESS TO WORKING IN MULTICULTURAL ENVIRONMENT
Abstract
The article deals with a description of the experience of language training to working in a multicultural environment. The author describes social roles of a teacher and underlines the importance of using the adequate language means in accordance with the aim of utterance and the target audience. Professional qualities of a teacher and the inter-dependence of both these qualities and personal qualities of a teacher and academic success of students are revealed. The article also describes the requirements to second language proficiency of a teacher at all educational levels: from kindergarten to 12 grade school as Canada is a 2-language country. The role of a teacher as an interpreter and translator of cultural patters for all the participants of educational process is also described here.Downloads
