Анотація

У статті представлені результати наукових досліджень особливостей комм’юніті (громадських) коледжів США як особливого феномену американськкої вищої освіти. Автор відслідковує розвиток коледжів в Америці з ранніх днів до сучасності, описуючи соціальні, політичні, релігійні та економічні чинники, що впливають на їх розвиток. Звертає увагу, як освітні інновації кожного історичного періоду від кінця ХІХст. до початку ХХІ ст. змінювали ландшафт комм’юніті коледжів. Автором встановлено, що комм’юніті (громадські) коледжі – це заклади, які пропонують шестимісячні професійні дипломи; одно- і дворічні професійні, технічні та передпрофесійні сертифікати; і дворічні програми загальної та ліберальної освіти, що дають право отримати диплом асоціата. Комм’юніті коледжі в США мають значну популярність, яка зростає з кожним роком.

Автор вважає, що позитивний досвід комм’юніті (громадських) коледжів в сфері управління, фінансування, доступу до вищої освіти та співпраці з роботодавцями може стати у нагоді вітчизняним освітнім менеджерам.
